Coleman-Mach heat pump blower runs below 45 F
Coleman-Mach FAQ says heat pumps are most effective above 45 F and the compressor may shut down below about 45 F while the indoor blower keeps running; the 46515 owner manual also describes staged compressor operation with a 30-second delay.
Owner-safe checklist
- Use normal LP furnace or backup heat controls when outdoor temperature is below about 45 F and the heat pump cannot keep up.
- Record outdoor temperature, thermostat heat mode, zone, blower behavior, and whether the compressor resumes above 45 F.
- Wait through the 30-second staging delay before treating startup as a failure.
- Call qualified RV HVAC service if the blower runs without heat in moderate outdoor temperatures.
