Dometic OD-5001 power vent fan not running
Use this when water flow is on but the OD-5001 heater does not come on and the power vent fan is not running.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Turn the water heater off if it does not start normally.
- Record whether water flow was present and whether the fan was silent.
- Check only normal RV power controls and breaker state from the user panel.
- Do not open the appliance or control enclosure; call service for internal fuse or board checks.
