Dometic OD-5001 startup or lockout behavior
Use this when an OD-5001 on-demand water heater will not start normally, needs first-use air purge, fails ignition, or lights the optional lockout lamp.
Owner-safe checklist
- Pressurize the water system and purge air from hot-water lines from normal faucets.
- Confirm 12V power and LP supply using normal RV controls only.
- Reset ignition only with the water-heater power switch after one failed start attempt.
- Turn the appliance off and call service if overheating occurs, gas does not shut off, or lockout returns.
