Dometic Single Zone LCD low-ambient heat-pump lockout
Dometic Single Zone LCD thermostat instructions say the Dometic heat pump locks out heat-pump operation below 30 F; Auto fan turns off, while Low or High fan can remain on without compressor heat.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Record outside temperature estimate, selected mode, fan setting, and whether the compressor is off below 30 F.
- Use normal furnace or heat-strip controls if equipped when the heat pump is below its operating range.
- Do not keep forcing heat-pump starts below the documented low-ambient lockout temperature.
- Call qualified RV HVAC service if heat-pump heating fails above the documented low-ambient range.
