Dometic water heater overheat lockout reset
Use this when a Dometic water heater is in an over-heating lockout and support/manual guidance points to cooling and reset at the switch.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Turn the water heater off and let the water cool before any reset attempt.
- Use only the wall switch or normal control switch reset described by Dometic support.
- Do not keep resetting an overheat lockout that returns.
- Call service for repeated overheat lockout, thermostat, ECO, or hot-water temperature problems.
