Norcold absorption refrigerator power-source or startup behavior
Use this when a Norcold/Thetford absorption refrigerator will not respond to the on/off button, will not use automatic energy selection as expected, or behaves differently on 12 V when the tow vehicle engine is off.
Owner-safe checklist
- Hold the documented on/off button for the model before assuming the display is unresponsive.
- Record whether the refrigerator is in manual or automatic mode and which normal RV energy source is available.
- For models that use 12 V only while driving, confirm the engine-running requirement from the model documentation.
- Use qualified service if the refrigerator still will not start, respond, or select an available source.
