Suburban furnace airflow, overheating, soot, or closed register
Use this when Suburban furnace guidance points to restricted registers, return air, blocked venting, soot, erratic cycling, or delayed ignition.
Owner-safe checklist
- Keep heat registers open and do not close a register to move heat elsewhere.
- Remove only visible return-air restrictions and loose items near the furnace compartment.
- Check only visible exterior vent openings for blockage; do not install bug screens over the furnace vent.
- Shut the furnace down immediately if soot appears at the vent, ignition is delayed, or cycling is erratic, then contact qualified service.
