Suburban griddle ignition, grease, or storage safety
Use this when a Suburban griddle does not ignite within 5 seconds, grease or oil catches fire, or storage is planned; Suburban says to turn controls off and wait 5 minutes after no ignition, not use water on a grease fire, and store the griddle only after it is off, cool, and at room temperature.
Owner-safe checklist
- If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, turn the control OFF and wait 5 minutes before another normal attempt.
- Do not lean over the griddle while lighting.
- For a grease fire, turn burners and gas source off only if safe, call the fire department, and do not use water.
- Let the griddle cool before moving or storage; store it only when off, disconnected from the low-pressure gas source, and at room temperature.
