Suburban SF-VH thermostat location or premature satisfaction
Use this when a Suburban SF-VH furnace shuts off before the coach feels warm and the thermostat may be mounted too high, on the wrong wall, too far from the return grate, or otherwise satisfied before the living space reaches set temperature.
Owner-safe checklist
- Record thermostat height, wall location, nearby heat sources, and whether the furnace stops before the living area warms.
- Compare the thermostat location to Suburban guidance: central, near the return grate, on an inside wall, and about 4-1/2 feet above the floor.
- Do not relocate the thermostat or alter thermostat conductors as an owner troubleshooting step.
- Have thermostat relocation, furnace sizing, duct balance, and recurring short-cycle diagnosis handled by qualified RV service.
