Suburban tank water heater P/T relief drip or lost air pocket
Use this when a Suburban tank water heater weeps or drips from the pressure-temperature relief outlet during heating.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Turn the water heater off and let stored water cool before following Suburban air-pocket guidance.
- Record whether the P/T relief outlet drips only while heating or continues after cooldown.
- Do not cap, plug, restrict, or ignore the relief outlet.
- Have a dealer or qualified plumbing/RV service handle persistent discharge, valve replacement, or accumulator work.
