Suburban tank water heater winterizing, drain, or freeze risk
Use this when a Suburban tank water heater must be drained for freezing storage, bypassed for antifreeze, or checked after possible freeze exposure.
Owner-safe checklist
- Turn off electrical power, LP, and water pressure, then let stored water cool before draining.
- Drain the water heater and follow the RV manufacturer's instructions for the whole water system before freezing storage.
- Do not relight or energize the heater until the tank is refilled and air is removed from the tank and lines.
- Call qualified service for damaged fittings, leaks, blocked drains, or suspected freeze damage.
