Thetford holding-tank treatment, freeze, and sensor care

Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Use only Thetford tank-treatment products and dosing guidance appropriate for the holding-tank type and trip length.
- Record odor, tank level, outside temperature, freezing exposure, product used, and whether sensors appear affected by sludge.
- Empty and rinse tanks only at approved dump stations and follow RV sanitation product directions.
- Use Thetford support or qualified RV sanitation service for leaks, persistent odor, frozen-tank damage, or sensor symptoms that do not improve with approved care.
