Norcold ON on GAS flashes fault code — Refrigerator
Applies to: N61X, N81X
What ON on GAS flashes means
The official N61/N81 owner manual lists ON on GAS flashes as: LP ignition or re-ignition failed, but AC voltage returned and the refrigerator is operating on AC.
Owner-safe checks
- Record the exact code and whether the fault happened in LP/manual gas or automatic mode.
- Confirm LP is available using normal RV owner controls and shut LP off if any gas odor is present.
- Move perishables if refrigerator temperature is unsafe.
Service-only work
- LP pressure, ignition, flame-sense, and refrigerator-control diagnosis should be handled by qualified Norcold service.
Safety boundary
Do not hand-light, clean flame parts, adjust LP gas, bypass refrigerator controls, or open electrical compartments. Shut off LP if gas odor is present and arrange qualified Norcold service for unresolved faults.
