Girard GSWH-1/GSWH-1M low flow, temperature swing, or limiting
Use this when a legacy Girard tankless water heater has low flow, temperature swings, limiting/cycling, or water that is too hot or not hot enough.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Purge air from hot and cold water lines before judging temperature behavior.
- Follow the exact manual for the model: GSWH-1 uses hot-water flow and mode settings, while GSWH-1M uses gas-modulation and flow adjustments.
- Check owner-accessible faucet or shower restrictions only when the model manual allows it, and keep exterior louvers visibly clear.
- Call Lippert/Girard or qualified RV service for limiting or cycling that repeats, persistent flow problems, or any LED fault pattern.
