Girard GSWH-1/GSWH-1M winterization or freeze-risk

Use this when a legacy Girard GSWH-1 winter-use device, GSWH-1M built-in winter mode, storage winterization, or suspected freeze damage is involved.

Owner-safe checklist

• Winterize the whole RV plumbing before storage or freezing weather; the winter-use device protects only the water heater internal piping.
• For intended winter operation, verify only normal owner-visible conditions: fresh water, 12V power, water pump, LP supply, and the heater switched on.
• Shut off water, LP, and 12V power for leaks, suspected freeze damage, gas odor, or visible damage.
• Treat winter-use-device installation, thermostat, solenoid, wiring, and leak repair as qualified service work.
