RV rooftop air conditioner leaks water inside
Use this when a rooftop air conditioner allows condensation or meltwater into the RV living space.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Turn the air conditioner off if water is entering the living space.
- Protect flooring and furniture while the unit defrosts or drains.
- Clean owner-accessible condensation drain openings only if reachable without disassembly.
- Record whether freeze shutdown, closed air nozzles, or clogged filters happened first.
