What 12 means
The official Thetford N3000 troubleshooting sheet lists error code 12 as: Display board and power board lose communication with each other.
Owner-safe checks
- Record the exact display wording and whether an audible alarm is present.
- Turn the refrigerator off if cooling is interrupted or the fault repeats.
- Move perishables if temperature is unsafe.
Service-only work
- Display board, power board, harness, and communication diagnosis should be handled by qualified Thetford/Norcold service.
Safety boundary
Do not hand-light, clean burner parts, adjust LP gas, bypass refrigerator controls, or open electrical compartments. Shut off LP if gas odor is present and arrange qualified Norcold service for unresolved faults.
