Girard GSWH-2 winterization or freeze-leak risk
Use this when a Girard GSWH-2 is in winter-use mode, shows freeze-leak symptoms, or may have been improperly winterized.
Use this atlas to identify likely meaning and prepare for service. Shut off power, LP gas, fuel, or water when a listed appliance condition involves flame, gas smell, exhaust, generator shutdown, high temperature, moving jacks/slides, refrigerant, 120 VAC, control boards, repeated ignition failure, or a persistent lockout. Call the appliance maker, RV dealer, or a qualified RV technician for repair.
Owner-safe checklist
- Shut off water, LP, and 12V power if the heater is leaking or visibly damaged.
- Do not rely on winter-use mode or an Fd display to winterize the whole RV plumbing system.
- Photograph visible damage, the display state, model label, and winterization history for warranty or service.
- Contact Lippert/Girard or a qualified RV technician before operating a suspected freeze-damaged heater.
