The Norcold N8DCX/N10DCX service manual lists E4 as: The fresh food compartment door has been open for more than two minutes.
Owner-safe checks
- Record the exact display or LED state.
- Turn the refrigerator off if cooling is interrupted or the fault repeats.
- Move perishables if temperature is unsafe.
Service-only work
- Door switch, harness, and user-interface control diagnosis beyond closing the door should be handled by qualified Norcold service.
Safety boundary
Do not bypass compressor controls, fan circuits, thermistors, fuse protection, or DC wiring. Shut off the refrigerator and arrange qualified Norcold service for unresolved diagnostic faults.
