Furrion water heater code E3
Furrion documentation describes E3 separately for each model line: Furrion 2.4 GPM tankless water heater (FWH09A) (“Over temperature mechanical sensor faulty”); Furrion F2GWH tankless water heater (“ECO open before ignition or during normal operation, normally from outlet water over 140 F”). Compare the wording for your model below.

What you can safely check
- Turn the appliance off and allow water to cool.
- Do not restart if hot-water temperature seems unsafe.
- Contact Furrion or a qualified technician if E3 returns.
- Let cold water flow for 10 to 20 seconds as the manual states, then restart once.
- Turn the appliance off and contact Furrion if E3 still displays.
Stop and call a technician for
- Internal sensor, ignition, flame-sense, ECO, blower, pressure-switch, linear-valve, wiring, and controller diagnosis is qualified service work.
- Flame sensing, combustion, air pressure, fan, solenoid, sensor, board, LP, exhaust, and internal water-heater diagnosis is qualified service work.
Do not keep operating a tankless gas water heater with repeated display faults, abnormal heat, blocked exhaust, gas odor, or unstable hot-water temperature.
Do not run a gas water heater with abnormal flame, blocked venting, gas odor, or repeated lockout. Shut off LP/power and call service if the code persists.
