Codes are model-specific. Match the model number on the appliance data label to one of these before using the table:
RM8xxx, RMS8xxx, RML8xxx, RMSL8xxx, RM8501, RM8505, RMS8501, RMS8505, RML8555, RMSL8505
Where to look and what to record
- Interior data label model, product number, serial number
- Front display code or lamp state photo
- Power module/display board part number if service requests it
- Door position and parking-mode photo if service requests it
- Battery type and replacement date
- Front display code or alarm pattern photo
- Selected energy mode and campsite power status
- Internal battery and LP supply status from normal owner controls
Code table
| Code | What the manufacturer says |
|---|---|
| 2 + 8 flashing + 20 s beep | 230 V mode is not available or the voltage is too low |
| 4 + 8 flashing + 20 s beep | 12 V mode is not available or the voltage is too low; AES models also call out the D+ signal |
| 3 + 8 flashing + 20 s beep | GAS or automatic mode did not ignite the flame |
| 15 s beep every two minutes | The interior lighting is switched on |
| 2 + 7 flashing + 20 s beep | The 230 V heating element is defective |
| 4 + 7 flashing + 20 s beep | The 12 V heating element is defective |
| 7 flashing | The temperature sensor has no contact or is defective |
| 3 + 7 flashing + 20 s beep | The burner or cooling unit is defective |
| 3 + 8 flashing brightly | During internal-battery operation, the flame was not ignited |
| 3 + 7 flashing brightly | During internal-battery operation, the burner or cooling unit is defective |
| internal battery 15 s beep | An acoustic signal at 15-second intervals indicates undervoltage detection in the internal batteries |
| external-to-internal power switching failure | External-to-internal power switching failure as: Automatic switching from external to internal power supply does not function, so the refrigerator does not function and gas operation is not possible although batteries are inserted. |
| Ground contact, gas valve | Ground contact at the gas valve and says to replace the internal batteries that power the electronics. |
| Tank stop mode: gas operation blocked 15 minutes | Tank stop mode blocks gas operation for 15 minutes. |
| Recurring beep | A recurring beep can be caused by the refrigerator door not being completely closed or being left in parking mode. |
| Undervoltage detection (internal batteries) | Undervoltage detection in the internal batteries means the batteries that power the electronics should be replaced. |
| Gas operation despite mains supply voltage | The refrigerator switches to gas operation when mains supply voltage is too low and will automatically switch back to 230V operation when voltage is sufficient again. |
| Flame not ignited in GAS/Automatic mode | Flame not ignited in GAS or automatic mode can be reset from the front controls and tried again. |
| AC power not connected or AC voltage < 190 V | AC power may not be connected or AC voltage is below the operating threshold; below about 195V the refrigerator stops working on 230V. |
| 230V not available or voltage too low | 230V is not available or voltage is too low; below about 195V the refrigerator stops working on 230V. |
| 12V not available or voltage too low | 12V is not available or voltage is too low and points owners to the 12V connection, on-board battery, and fuse. |
| Refrigerator does not function; gas operation not possible although batteries are inserted | The on-board power supply was interrupted while gas operation was starting; no automatic switching is performed during ignition. |
| DC power not connected | DC power is not connected and points owners to the 12V connection, on-board battery, and fuse. |
| Flame not ignited in internal power mode | Flame not ignited in internal power mode can be reset from the front controls and tried again. |
| 230V heating element defective | A 230V heating element defective fault can only be repaired by an authorized service provider. |
| 12V heating element defective | A 12V heating element defective fault can only be repaired by an authorized service provider. |
| Flashing + acoustic signal 20 s | A flashing display with a 20-second acoustic signal can only be repaired by an authorized service provider. |
| Interior lighting is switched on | The interior-lighting fault can be caused by the refrigerator door not being completely closed or being left in parking mode. |
Do not open gas, electrical, or cooling-system components; use only documented front-panel actions and call qualified RV service for repeated faults.
Do not service LP hardware, burners, electrical circuits, wiring, or refrigerator controls; use only documented front-panel reset and call qualified service for repeated ignition faults.
Do not service LP hardware, electrical circuits, wiring, or refrigerator controls; use only normal front-panel operation and call qualified service for repeated faults.
