The official Norcold N4000 touchscreen owner manual lists code 3 as: The refrigerator does not work on gas; check the bottle and shutoff state, turn the refrigerator off and on again, and try another power source.
Owner-safe checks
- Record the exact code, selected source, model, serial number, and whether the code repeats.
- Check only the owner-visible LP supply state and shut LP off if any gas odor is present.
- Turn the refrigerator off and on once, then try another source if the code repeats.
- Move perishables if temperature is unsafe.
Service-only work
- LP system, ignition, flame-sense, and refrigerator-control diagnosis should be handled by qualified Norcold service.
Safety boundary
Do not hand-light, clean flame parts, adjust LP gas, bypass refrigerator controls, or open electrical compartments. Shut off LP if gas odor is present and arrange qualified Norcold service for unresolved faults.
