Suburban/Atwood E5 fault code — Induction cooktop

Applies to: Suburban single element induction cooktop, Suburban double element induction cooktop

What E5 means

Internal circuit is too hot; Suburban says to turn the unit off until it is cool enough to be used again.

Owner-safe checks

  • Turn the cooktop off.
  • Wait until the cooktop is completely cool before restarting.
  • After cooldown, make sure the cooktop has clear space for fan ventilation and the air intake and exhaust vent area are clear.

Service-only work

  • Opening or attempting to open, modifying, disassembling, repairing, sensor, control, outlet, cord, plug, internal electrical, and power-supply diagnosis is dealer, Suburban Customer Service, qualified RV technician, or electrician work.

Safety boundary

Do not open or attempt to open the cooktop. Stop use after repeated error codes, damaged cord or plug, abnormal heat, or any suspected electrical problem and contact Suburban Customer Service or qualified service.
