What E4 means
The Norcold N15DCX/N20DCX service manual lists E4 as: Fresh-food compartment door has been open for more than two minutes.
Owner-safe checks
- Close the refrigerator door.
- Record whether the code clears after the door is closed.
- Watch for repeat door-code behavior.
Service-only work
- Door switch, magnet alignment, wiring, and control diagnosis beyond closing the door should be handled by qualified Norcold service.
Safety boundary
Do not bypass compressor controls, fan circuits, thermistors, fuse protection, or DC wiring. Shut off the refrigerator and arrange qualified Norcold service for unresolved diagnostic faults.
