Dometic P5 fault code — Rooftop air conditioner

What P5 means
The Dometic FreshJet FJX operating manual lists P5 as evaporator coil protection in cooling mode.
Owner-safe checks
- Record P5, cooling mode, setpoint, indoor and outdoor conditions, and whether airflow changed.
- Set a higher cooling temperature or stop FreshJet operation from normal controls if the code returns.
- Clean the ADB filter if owner-accessible and keep air intake openings, air nozzles, and ventilation grilles clear.
Service-only work
- Evaporator protection, temperature sensors, fan operation, sealed-system condition, and rooftop compartment diagnosis should be handled by authorized Dometic service or qualified RV HVAC personnel.
Safety boundary
Disconnect power before any FreshJet service. Refrigerant-circuit, sealed-system, sensor, fan, drive, electrical protection, roof seal, and internal component work is for authorized Dometic service or qualified RV HVAC personnel.
