Lippert E5 fault code — Water heater
Applies to: Girard GSWH-2
What E5 means
The Lippert Girard GSWH-2 owner manual lists E5 as blower motor failure because no motor signal was detected before ignition or during operation.
Owner-safe checks
- Turn hot-water demand off and power-cycle once only from normal controls.
- Record the code, set temperature, displayed temperature, and water-flow state.
- Contact Lippert/Girard or a qualified technician if E5 returns.
Service-only work
- Internal sensor, ignition, flame-sense, ECO, blower, pressure-switch, linear-valve, wiring, gas, and controller diagnosis is qualified service work.
Safety boundary
The Girard GSWH-2 is an LP gas tankless water heater. Shut the heater off for gas odor, overheating, leaks, blocked exhaust, or repeated faults and use Lippert/Girard or qualified RV service.
