Lippert E8 fault code — Water heater

What E8 means
The Lippert Girard GSWH-2 owner manual lists E8 as air pressure switch not detected before ignition or cut off during normal operation.
Owner-safe checks
- Turn hot-water demand off and do not keep cycling the heater.
- Check the exterior intake and exhaust area for visible obstruction without opening appliance service areas.
- Record the code, weather, visible vent condition, and whether the fan icon appeared.
- Contact Lippert/Girard or a qualified technician if E8 returns.
Service-only work
- Internal sensor, ignition, flame-sense, ECO, blower, pressure-switch, linear-valve, wiring, gas, and controller diagnosis is qualified service work.
Safety boundary
The Girard GSWH-2 is an LP gas tankless water heater. Shut the heater off for gas odor, overheating, leaks, blocked exhaust, or repeated faults and use Lippert/Girard or qualified RV service.
